Usually people will choose to depict some of their favorite pictures or paintings in the form of a permanent mark on their bodies through tattoos. But in this case, the opposite happens. An artist creates paintings with tattoo models and tattooed people which includes all their favorite tattoos that they have adorned their bodies with! We found an amazing young artist, who uses his talent in painting to capture people who have ink! A 36 year old painter from London, Chris Guest learned to paint by practicing endless hours, and devoting time in learning from his mistakes and figuring out ways to make his paintings better. He also studied illustration at Bournemouth University, and at Brunel College in Bristol. He uses mostly oil, as he loves the feeling of working with it and the fact that the way to use oils hasn't changed for hundreds of years. He loves to paint tattooed people in a classic style and technique, and has painted many tattooed models like Cervena Fox. He usually uses classical oil painting techniques to create paintings in a figurative tradition, coupled with a contemporary twist.[1] His work has been described as having a ‘pin-up’ style that connects the past with the modern and he has been cited as one of 15 artists that depict the tattooed community through incredible large-scale art. His originals and prints are collected worldwide, and his art has been featured in many magazines, publications and galleries around the globe including Tattoodo, Artist Talk Magazine and Metro. We also have an original print of one of his paintings, the one that is depicted behind him in the picture above. Chris also holds regular painting workshops around the UK, US and Europe. In 2020 (at now age 39) Chris published his first book of art works. Titled "Extreme is On!" the book contains images of his paintings documenting the last 6 years of his artistic journey, with behind the scenes shots from the studio, commentary, insights into his work and lots of unseen work. The book was made available in two versions 'Pink Car Selfie' Limited Edition which was limited to 500 copies and the 'Shark' Edition Regular Version. Make sure to check out his online store for all his available works! Original source and full article at: http://www.th-ink.co.uk/2015/08/31/the-art-of-chris-guest/
